I didn’t actually do this, but I heard this idea from a friend shortly after my shower. Tip #4: Have a Diaper Raffle at your Baby Shower That way, we weren’t wasting diapers and could return the larger package for the next size up. If we could tell that a particular size was getting a little snug, we would open the smallest package of diapers in that size. The good thing is, stores will take your unopened box of diapers and let you exchange it for another size. We had several boxes of diapers that were never opened because Weston grew out of the size too quickly. I think we went from newborn sized diapers to size 4 in about 5 months.
